Sydney comes alive in the cooler months, too. In Autumn, Vivid Sydney lights up the harbour with interactive light shows, breathtaking projections and more, while Bondi Winter Magic easily lures locals off the couch with its pop-up outdoor ice rinks, food stalls, workshops and more.

If you're looking for a festival for the whole family, you'll find pop culture conventions and science shows to check out. There are also contemporary arts festivals for the kids - and the Australian International Music Festival, a popular educational event for school and community music groups in June and July.
