A bright start to the festive season

At six o’clock sharp, more than 60, 000 lights on Zurich’s tallest Christmas tree will be turned on to usher in the Advent period. As every year, hotel guests and local residents are welcome to the Baur au Lac park to share mulled wine and biscuits with us as we light up the Christmas tree. Santa Claus and his able assistant will light up the children’s faces, and Pastor Katharina Hoby-Peter will beseech divine blessings.

It is with great pleasure that we welcome the «Swissters» to this year's festivities. The two born-and bred Swiss sisters combine modern beats with the mellow baritone of the Alpine horn, the folk rhythms of the dulcimer, the raucous accordion and the traditional Swiss musical practice of «Talerschwingen» (you'll be surprised!).

Dinner in a cheerfully relaxed atmosphere adds the finishing touch to a perfect evening. Celebrate the art of fine casual dining at the Rive Gauche, or discover the exquisite culinary creations of Laurent Eperon – complete with a marvelous view of the Christmas tree lights in the park – at Le Pavillon.
