Lace Sweatshirt and (Somewhat) Cropped Flare Jeans

I never thought I’d say it, but I’m liking the cropped flare jean trend lately.

Jeans come in so many varieties these days, don’t they? Straight leg, skinny, boot cut, jeggings. Do you tend to go with the same type of jeans or like to mix it up?

Usually, straight leg and skinnies are rotated in my weekend looks, but these Gap 1969 flare jeans caught my attention recently. I feel like my legs are on the shorter side, so I didn’t go for a super cropped version like some of them out there.

I wore my new jeans with a lace sweatshirt from Ann Taylor (last season, but there are so many versions of this floating around nowadays too) and simple trench coat to lunch last Sunday with some friends at brand-new restaurant in DC featuring all sort of cocktails made with Mezcal. (A post about this experience will be coming soon!)

How do you feel about cropped flares? Are they a do in your book?

  1. I have never been a fan of the cropped flare jeans but they look fabulous on you Mary! I tend to stick to boot cut or straight leg jeans. Totally loving your bag and shoes in this look too.

  2. You look amazing, Mary! I love the way you’ve styled the jeans with the beautiful laced sweatshirt and the pop of yellow in your purse, so lovely! I also really love those sunglasses on you! The shape pairs well with your face shape and the white really enhances and highlights your beautiful face! Thanks so much for sharing and I hope you’re having the best week so far!
