My husband and I have a tradition every year once cherry blossoms arrive.

We spend an afternoon walking around the Tidal Basin in DC, where the entire perimeter is lined with the most delicate white and pink flowering trees.

It’s really a beautiful sight. So many visitors are taking pictures. Families are having picnics underneath the trees. The atmosphere is so festive!

I even remarked to my husband this time around that I’m glad in this modern techy age (where so much of our lives happens online) that people still get giddy by nature. (I know, I always do)

Then, we always walk to our favorite outdoor lounge for a leisurely drink and people watching. It’s really the perfect segue into spring.

Do you have any Spring traditions?

  1. You look gorgeous Mary and the Cherry Blossoms are so beautiful! My spring tradition is always packing up the winter sweaters, boots and skirts and putting them in the attic and packing up my tights for the season too!!
