Suede Trench Coat

Going 70s inspired in this embroidered suede trench coat.

I’m sentimental. Ever since I was a kid, I’ve loved the idea of vintage.

Visiting my grandmother’s house, I used to marvel at all her old jewelry, handbags, clothes, and shoes. It amazed me that all her possessions lived through a different time!

I wonder these days if we develop such sentimental attachments to our special things, ย or even the quality of our things will hold up through the years.

This trench coat, as it turns out, is not vintage. But it sure looks like it, doesn’t it?

I bought it at Bebe, of all places, about 15 years ago. I saw the embroidered butterflies and immediately fell in love.

I was so glad last fall when the 70s made a sort of style revival. It inspired me to pull out this trench again, which hadn’t been worn in a few years.

How do you feel about vintage clothing or vintage-inspired looks? Are you a fan?

Jacket: Bebe (from 15 years ago!), Skirt: The Limited, Blouse: Ann Taylor, Shoes: Charles and David, Sunglasses; Valentino

  1. Yes, very much a fan of vintage pieces. I used to collect estate jewellery actually but it’s been a while since I went treasure-hunting ๐Ÿ™‚ I love that coat and I really adore the shirt you’ve got underneath. It looks like delightful porcelain xoxo
