Fur Collar and Leather Pants

I wore this fur collar and these versatile Standard NYC faux leather pants from Norstrom out recently for a day of shopping and hanging out with some friends.

The detachable collar is actually taken from a Karen Millen winter coat, which I’ll feature here soon.

Once again, I always appreciate being versatile with my items and look for ways I can wear the same thing in different contexts.

Personally, I find this more interesting when I look at other fashion blogs too. Blair Eadie of the fantastic blog Atlantic Pacific seems to do this exceptionally well!

How do you feel about seeing repeats (but in different ways) on fashion blogs? Fan? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Mary, I absolutely adore this pairing; I think it may be my most favorite of yours to date! I love everything about it and how you’ve used the fur collar from another coat in this look. I’m also swooning over that purse too; I love the shape and color!

I agree, I love to wear and feature my items multiple times on my blog as well. When shopping, I always look for versatility, even if it’s a bold color or pattern I’m looking at. If I know that I won’t be able to wear it in more ways than one, I simply pass on it, even if I love it (in most cases at least πŸ˜‰ As for mixing things up on the blog with those pieces, I think it shows practicality and that we’re every day people, just like our readers. I feel people can connect better with a blogger who wears things more than once in different ways, since most people don’t have a never ending closet where they can only wear things once. They go to blogs for inspiration and true inspiration is felt when you can connect and relate to someone πŸ™‚

I hope you’re having a wonderful day so far, beautiful! Again, you look fantastic!

    1. Gosh… thank you for such a thoughtful response. I totally agree that we’re ordinary people and we should appreciate when others are creative with their things rather than just buying new items all the time.
