Skinny Scarf and Blazer

fall-outfit Embracing fall’s must have skinny scarf trend… with black blazer and leather pants. Oh, and black lab too. blazer-and-faux-leather-pants5 While skinny scarfs may be the new Must Have accessory for fall 2015, this one has been in my family for awhile. I got it from my mother, who used to wear it with a crisp white blouse to work years ago.

Now, her tastes run more towards beaded, fringed, floral, or bright-colored, so she was okay with me adopting it from her.

One of the things I absolutely love about fashion is that some styles really do become in vogue again and again over time.

Classic pieces will always be stylish and they can be passed down to daughters and even granddaughters with sentimental value.

I love that I can wear the same scarf with white blouse and blazer as my mother did years ago, but add faux leather pants  to give it a modern 2015 spin. faux-leather-pants2skinny-scarf Do you have any sentimental attachments to clothing or accessories handed down from relatives? Do you have any pieces you plan to pass down to your own children?

This topic is so interesting to me, and I love hearing your stories! Let me know in the comments!

  1. Mary, this is such a lovely scarf! That’s so beautiful that it was passed down to you by your mom (she has wonderful taste)! I don’t have anything that has been passed down to me, but I sure to intend on doing so with my future children. It just makes it more meaningful when you’re wearing something that was apart of your mom or grandmother; it’s as thought the piece has life.

You look wonderful and very chic! I hope you have a lovely day!

I love the story and agree that fashion is always comeback and pass on to one generation after generation. I remember I used to take my mom’s skirt and wore it. It looked kinda weird that time because I was so young and I didn’t understand the word style or fashion yet. Now I want that piece back! lol Thank you for sharing your story and that scarf is very pretty and meaningful 🙂

    xoxo, Anita

    1. Hi Anita,
Thanks for your message. I always loved going into my mom’s closet and wearing her things too even if I was too young to really understand fashion. Funny how we do this, right?
